I've been having a Nina Simone morning....listening to Sinnerman and See-Line Woman....I bet $50 that Ida Scott from Jimmy Baldwin's Another Country is based on Nina Simone....I wonder if Nina Simone ever "got happy" (in church or out)....I was brought up a good Methodist...A.M.E...we didn't do that kind of stuff....though there was this one woman who would have her fits every other Sunday...but she came from the Baptist Church, so we shook our heads and understood....lol
