Star Jones Leaving the View
The entire fiasco that is The View will seriously have to shake itself of this royal mess. Star Jones has proven herself to have a great dignity and grace and also to be a wonderful power player. Barbara Walters and the hidden giant Bill Getty thought that they could poo poo away Star, but to put it bluntly, Star has fucked Barbara royally and didn't even kiss her. You go girl. Another thing that can be said for star is that she IS the consummate lawyer and she has displayed that and combined it flawlessly with her public celebrity over the past few days. Barbara Walters might get Rosie O'Donnell, but both she and Rosie walk away from this smelling like shit.... Joy Behar do you really want to stay at The View? Finally, I think that what happened...when it boils right down to it...is that when star lost all of her weight(and I think she looked better with it, but you go girl and make your decisions) Barbara Walter's lost her mammy and therefore didn't want her around anymore.

Polls showed (and subsequent indepedent polls have shown it) that Star lost her appeal to the average woman who likes to see someone on TV they can relate to. You cannot relate to a woman who has a dramatic change like that, and then refuses to discuss the one procedure that made it possible, gastric bypass surgery. They offered her a quiet way out and PLENTY of notice...honor would have dictated she take that way.
Being an average, slightly overweight gal, I personally thought she looked like ET after her weight loss.
Yes, I don't think that that surgery was a wise decision. However, I do think that her privacy should have been respected--also if they were going to get rid of her they should have done it in another way.
Star Jones has no class or dignity. She is a loser looking for some lime light. Don't play the race card on this one. Barbara Walters paved the way for Star to leave with grace - Star proved she knows nothing about grace and style and class. She displayed her trailer trash style by lying about the weight loss and looking for her 15 minutes of fame like the Omarosa wanna-be she is.
